Honoring South Carolina’s Coaching Legends
SCACA COACHES HALL OF FAME
On December 18, 1992, the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Coaches Association voted to establish the SCACA Coaches Hall of Fame. The first inductees were enshrined in 1993 at the First Annual Awards Banquet. Induction into the SCACA Hall of Fame is an enduring expression of appreciation and gratitude for decades of coaching excellence.
The purpose of the SCACA Coaches Hall of Fame is to try in some way to express to the coaches of South Carolina the appreciation we, the members, have for them and to express our thanks for their many contributions to high school athletics in South Carolina.
Athletic Director or Head Coach Hall of Fame Selection Criteria
Each year, selection to the SCACA Coach Hall of Fame will rest with the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, made up of all Past Presidents and chaired by the First Vice President.
Annual nominations may be made by any SCACA member or former member, school administrator, teacher, or athlete in South Carolina.
Selections will be based on a set of criteria, which includes the following:
SCACA membership for a minimum of 15 years, unless coaching years are prior to 1965
Contributions to the SCACA
Demonstrates integrity, good character, and positive leadership.
Served 20 years as a head coach or athletic director in SC High School (combination of years CAN be counted)
Must be a United States citizen
Professional, community/ civic, church contributions
Recipient of state and national awards
Assistant Hall of Fame Selection Criteria
Each year, selection to the SCACA Assistant Coach Hall of Fame will rest with the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, made up of all Past Presidents and chaired by the First Vice President.
Annual nominations may be made by any SCACA member or former member, school administrator, teacher, or athlete in South Carolina.
Selections will be based on a set of criteria, which includes the following:
Must be an SCACA member for a minimum of 25 years
Demonstrated contributions to the SCACA
Demonstrates integrity, good character, and positive leadership
The impact made as an assistant coach for the head coaches they worked under
A total of 25 years served as an assistant coach, head coach, or in athletic administration at a SCHSL member school (a combination of roles may count toward the 25-year requirement)
Must be a United States citizen
Professional and community/ civic impact
Recipient of state and national awards
